Kate Spade - Doncaster
Working with luxury brands means understanding their focus, their brand, and their ethos. That’s why when GJ Australia were asked to bring Kate Spade’s Westfield Doncaster store to life, we knew it was essential that we create a polished look, using a sophisticated and modern palette that would bring forth the essence of this brand.
Before even walking into the store, you will be greeted by a custom-manufactured shopfront boasting a rose gold finish, paired with 2-Pak panels painted in Kate Spade pink. You’ll also see signage that seemingly floats above the entrance, thanks to its mounted glass panel and hidden wiring installed by the GJ Australia team.
To give the 105sqm space a sense of flow, the team used radius corners on the walls, ceiling and recessed skirting. It was an intricate design requiring specialist skill and joinery expertise. Being a smaller site, diligent project management was essential in ensuring all aspects of the fit-out were completed to high standards within the 6-week timeframe without overcrowding.
Indian marble floor tiles follow the shape of the ceiling, with a unique border tile that echoes the curves of the walls. And with its inset brass strip and pink at the centre, this fit-out feels luxurious from top to bottom.
Decorating the walls is a custom Kate Spade wallpaper design from New York, accentuated by the brass-look shelve edges and trims that pop against the pastel colours.
And no Kate Spade fit-out is complete without the feature wall: a beautiful, timeless piece of art made from 2,500 individual spades fixed to a panel—and a standing testament to GJ Australia’s superior craftsmanship.
The project took the team a total of 6 weeks to complete, ensuring all joinery was completed to the highest standard.
